The Church Finds Its Voice Coalition in D.C. at the Faith Wins Pastors' Summit |
Warmest regards dear Pastors. If you were in D.C. at the Pastors’ Summit it was absolutely incredible to be with you. If you didn’t go this time, let me just say you were missed a whole lot and we very much hope you can join another time. Tonight -the final evening- we all went to the Capitol after hours together and toured this stunning building, but also sang hymns in the Rotunda. Thrilling, heavenly. We also visited then prayed in the House chamber. It was fitting. As a pastor, your place in the life of our nation is essential and it was dramatically driven home again by seeing the many many evidences of our nation’s Christian heritage in this breathtaking building that speaks of it in every picture, statue, and stone. The first night - the previous evening- we gathered in a “big beautiful” room (to borrow a phrase from President Trump) at the phenomenal Museum of the Bible. Our coalition of four… Chad, Brad, Kielle and I (Joan) each spoke. That was the first time in the 5 1/2 years of The Church Finds Its Voice coalition that we’ve all been together at one time in the same room. We made a special effort to do that because we wanted to be face-to-face, eyeball to eyeball, handshake to handshake with you. With you. In the same room. This Comm brings you what we said. The film will bring you there in the room, and we hope you get the sense of being with us as you watch. As always, we want you to feel our love for you and know our encouragement of you as you boldly lead in both pulpit and public. Here’s the film for our Comm 63: |
