This One Thing Will Save Our Nation's Identity

Yep, one thing. And when we don’t have that thing, our nation isn’t what it should be.

What is it?

To explain; Way at the start of our new nation, back in 1642, our young leaders determined that every single kid would learn to read and write specifically so they could read the Bible for their own selves, with their own eyes.

Before coming to the New World, access to scripture was controlled by the State and people were told what it said and what it meant. How very revolutionary, then, it was to be able to read it for yourself!

So leaders passed the very first public education law called “The Old Deluder Satan Law”,so-called because when common people were prevented from reading scripture for themselves Satan could delude….. meaning it was very easy for various authorities to interpret it to control or abuse them. Biblical illiteracy would foster their deception.

So Biblical literacy is that ONE thing!! Requiring that everyone know how to read and write would ensure that knowledge of the Scriptures was obtainable to all. For most of our history, the Bible was the primary textbook in public education. The Ten Commandments were known by every citizen.

But today this is gone. The Bible is out of the classroom and our national literacy rate is just 79%. Globally our nation ranks a dismal 36th in literacy.

So we thought we’d encourage you to preach pure Scripture, plus offer it freely to your congregations by either offering printed Bibles or giving out a list of good digital options like the list below.

This is our national number one priority; to strengthen our people in their consumption of the Word so they can truly understand our nation’s identity, and that includes our historic view of the Middle East.

There’s too much confusion amongst the American people about why we’re engaged in removing the threats posed by Islam. Scripture will explain all.

We know many many people are searching for truth; Bible sales have been skyrocketing for two straight years. Biblical literacy is that one thing that will restore them to understanding, and save our nation’s identity.
